Comprised of a network of 10 cultivation facilities, many feel the proposed monopoly <a href=\"http:\/\/www.marijuana.com\/blog\/news\/2015\/10\/ohio-votes-on-legal-marijuana-in-one-week-polls-are-close\/\" target=\"_blank\">killed the optimistic polling numbers<\/a> heading into the election.<\/p>\n<p>Despite an October Quinnipiac poll that had shown 53% of Ohio\u2019s voters were <a href=\"http:\/\/www.marijuana.com\/blog\/news\/2015\/10\/new-quinnipiac-poll-53-percent-of-ohios-voters-support-marijuana-legalization\/\" target=\"_blank\">down with legalizing marijuana<\/a>, the majority ultimately decided that Issue 3 was an ugly initiative that needed to be put out of its misery. Blaming the painful loss on the initiative\u2019s proposed monopoly, voters like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/nation-now\/2015\/11\/03\/measure-legalize-pot-ohio-losing-badly\/75130968\/\" target=\"_blank\">Katie Kauffeld<\/a>\u00a0told USA Today:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201c<strong>I don\u2019t have a problem with the legalization of marijuana, I have a problem with the monopoly and the way this particular amendment was written up<\/strong>&#8230;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>While the rejection of Issue 3 smells like failure from a distance \u2013 it actually represents a thoughtful step forward.
