Ultimately reducing the total number of marijuana related arrests to <strong><em><u>seven,<\/u><\/em><\/strong> as of November 6, 2015.<\/p>\n<p>Yep, there&#8217;s little doubt this has been <a href=\"http:\/\/www.marijuana.com\/?s=2015\" target=\"_blank\">an elevated year for the marijuana reform movement<\/a>, a year whose influence could alter the direction of this country&#8217;s <strong>marijuana policy<\/strong> for future generations.<\/p>\n<p>California, which first legalized <strong>recreational marijuana<\/strong> in 1996, has cultivated strong public support for their <a href=\"http:\/\/www.marijuana.com\/blog\/news\/2015\/11\/ccprs-richard-lee-endorses-rival-california-legal-marijuana-measure\/\" target=\"_blank\">2016 ballot initiative<\/a>, and looks forward to that critical day in November when they can cast their ballot for full legalization. Would-be Democratic presidential candidate <a href=\"http:\/\/www.marijuana.com\/blog\/news\/2015\/10\/bernie-sanders-pledges-to-reform-federal-marijuana-laws\/\" target=\"_blank\">Bernie Sanders planted the seed of true reform<\/a> via a piece of landmark legislation, hoping to finally snuff out the feds prohibition on marijuana. This action, many believe, compelled Hillary Clinton to reevaluate her <a href=\"http:\/\/www.marijuana.com\/?s=Hillary+Clinton\" target=\"_blank\">fluctuating position on marijuana reform<\/a>. Mexico\u2019s Supreme Court recently sided with personal liberty and private <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.marijuana.com\/blog\/news\/2015\/11\/mexicos-supreme-court-green-lights-pathway-towards-legalization\/\" target=\"_blank\">medical marijuana use<\/a><\/strong>; a ruling many believe will end in legalized recreational marijuana south of the border (<em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.marijuana.com\/blog\/news\/2015\/11\/canadas-health-minister-studying-marijuana-legalization-models\/\" target=\"_blank\">move over Canada<\/a><\/em>).
