Kicking off next\u00a0week on a high note for those interested in getting involved in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.marijuana.com\/?s=Oregon\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Oregon&#8217;s marijuana industry<\/strong><\/a>, first thing Monday morning the House will cast their ballot on <a href=\"https:\/\/olis.leg.state.or.us\/liz\/2016R1\/Downloads\/MeasureDocument\/HB4014\/Introduced#Oregon:%20House%20Bill%204014\">HB 4014<\/a>. If passed, this curious piece of legislation would remove the two-year residency requirement for those looking to enter Oregon&#8217;s newest commerce, potentially opening the floodgates to a pent-up horde of out-of-state investors.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.marijuana.com\/blog\/news\/2015\/07\/senate-bill-would-let-marijuana-businesses-access-banks\/\" target=\"_blank\">Banking is not a crime<\/a>:\u00a0<\/strong>Also on Monday, <a href=\"https:\/\/olis.leg.state.or.us\/liz\/2016R1\/Downloads\/MeasureDocument\/HB4094#Oregon:%20House%20Bill%204094\">HB 4094<\/a> will go before Oregon&#8217;s House of Representatives in the hopes of gaining some long-overdue support for those banks that choose to provide financial services to the budding industry. House Bill 4094 seeks to toss out any potential state criminal liability for those banks\u00a0doing business within the marijuana industry. This welcome piece of legislation is meant to soothe the tattered nerves of those within world of high finance, providing cover from what many feel is an overreaching federal government.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Not enough?\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>On Tuesday, one of the more noteworthy pieces of legislation, <a href=\"https:\/\/olis.leg.state.or.us\/liz\/2016R1\/Downloads\/MeasureDocument\/SB1511#Oregon:%20Senate%20Bill%201511\">SB 1511<\/a>, will be going before a\u00a0joint committee\u00a0for a vote by both members of the\u00a0House\u00a0&amp;\u00a0Senate.\u00a0If passed, the bill would permit Oregon&#8217;s medical marijuana patients to <a href=\"https:\/\/weedmaps.com\/dispensaries\/in\/united-states\/salem-eugene\" target=\"_blank\">purchase their medicine from recreational shops<\/a> <strong>tax-free<\/strong>, representing a critical change to the states existing laws.
