There\u2019s the airport named after Pat McCarran, and the Harry Reid Center located on the University of Nevada Las Vegas, a research center that is involved in various projects on campus.<\/p>\n<p>But not many can say they\u2019ve had a strain of medical marijuana named in their honor.<\/p>\n<p>Segerblom Haze is named after <a href=\"http:\/\/Senator Tick Segerblom\">Tick Segerblom<\/a>, D-Las Vegas, and carries a THC level of 27 percent. This sativa is exclusive to <a href=\"https:\/\/weedmaps.com\/dispensaries\/euphoria-wellness\">Euphoria Wellness<\/a>, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.marijuana.com\/blog\/news\/2015\/08\/welcome-euphoria-wellness-las-vegas-valley-gets-its-first-medical-marijuana-dispensary\/\">first legal<\/a> medical marijuana dispensary to open in <a href=\"https:\/\/weedmaps.com\/dispensaries\/in\/united-states\/nevada\/west-las-vegas\">Las Vegas<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not typical for a politician to have a marijuana strain named after him but it really is a legitimate industry and it\u2019s helping a lot of people,\u201d Segerblom said. \u201cSo to any extent that I can be involved in that and encourage people to participate, I\u2019m happy to do it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Segerblom has played a major role in ensuring the topic of medicinal marijuana stays on the table. He has been victorious when it comes to marijuana in the Nevada Legislature. And he won\u2019t stop. Segerblom plans to get as much information as possible out to his constituents on the benefits of recreational marijuana, which will be on the ballot in November. \u201cIt would be good for people to start learning about the issue and also hopefully they\u2019ll vote for it,\u201d he said. \u201cThe reality is that it has already happened. Why not legalize it, tax it, test it, and make some money on it?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The strain was developed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Deep-Roots-Harvest-556703514472811\/\">Deep Roots Harvest<\/a>, a cultivation center located in Clark County. Darlene Purdy, managing director of Euphoria Wellness, said the sativa dominant strain is uplifting and great for depression, anxiety, and helps with appetite problems.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey (Deep Roots Harvest) developed the strain in the name of Tick Segerblom because of what he has done for us in Nevada by helping to get medical marijuana off the ground,\u201d Purdy said. \u201cIt\u2019s funny because Segerblom\u2019s name actually means \u2018victory harvest\u2019 so it kind of goes hand in hand with that strain.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Euphoria Wellness will donate 10 percent of Segerblom Haze proceeds to Helping Brothers and Sisters Veterans Charity.<\/p>\n<p>Segerblom said that he hopes by having his name on the strain it will help bring on more legitimacy and take away some of the stigmas that come along with medical marijuana. \u201cPeople\u2019s attitudes are changing \u2026 our industry has really come alive,\u201d Segerblom said. \u201cIf you\u2019re interested, there are dispensaries all over the valley.
