Maine allows out-of-state patients to exercise their rights for 30 days. Rhode Island respects out-of-state recommendations for any &#8216;debilitating medical condition.&#8217; Michigan accepts medical cards from states that also have reciprocity (California&#8217;s does not). Vermont allows recommendations from neighboring states for Vermont residents only.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Grow up to 12 immature plants or 6 mature plants<\/li>\n<li>Possess up to 8 ounces of dried marijuana. Individual cities and counties can set higher limits, however, they cannot lower the state\u2019s designated limit. For certain conditions, your doctor can recommend you for a higher amount than the limit allows at their discretion.<\/li>\n<li>Attend events where marijuana will be distributed, like the Cannabis Cup or other festivals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>An important thing to remember is that your medical marijuana card\u00a0doesn\u2019t give you free reign to do whatever you want with your weed. According to the Federal Government, marijuana is a Schedule 1 drug under the Controlled Substances Act, so your recommendation won\u2019t matter at airports, border crossings, jails, and other federally governed buildings or land. Also, employers are not required to observe your recommendation, and the same goes for your health insurance provider, so don\u2019t expect reimbursement for your dispensary purchases.
