The resounding, joyous, chest-puffed-out sound is standard Chance, symbolic of his superhero-like persona. Kanye West and the <a href=\"https:\/\/weedmaps.com\/earth\/us\/il\/wilmette\/60091\">Chicago<\/a> Children\u2019s Choir join Chano on the intro \u201cAll We Got,\u201d a fusion of gospel and funk that follows up the pair\u2019s \u201cUltralight Beam\u201d intro on West\u2019s <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Life of Pablo<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The song sets the tone for the rest of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Coloring Book<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which plays like Sunday Service, if your church\u2019s choir also had fire rap verses from Chance and some of his buddies (the guest list is insane).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe class='youtube-player' type='text\/html' width='702' height='425' src='http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/eedeXTWZUn8?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;fs=1&#038;autohide=2&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;wmode=transparent' allowfullscreen='true' style='border:0;'><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\nI wanted to pair the powerful tape with a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.marijuana.com\/strains\/\">strain<\/a> that fit a number of criteria; it had to be uplifting, euphoric, and strong. Chance proudly releases all of his music for free, so our pairing would have to be known for being <a href=\"http:\/\/www.marijuana.com\/blog\/news\/2016\/05\/may-outdoor-grow-guide\/\">outdoor-grown<\/a>, not restrained in any way. My search led me to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.marijuana.com\/strains\/nebula\/\">Nebula<\/a>, a sativa-dominant strain that took home the gold at Copa la Bella Flor Spain in 2005. Nebula is known for its vibrant greens and oranges&#8211; perfect for your <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Coloring Book<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You\u2019ll catch yourself humming the melodies to songs like \u201cMixtape,\u201d \u201cAngels,\u201d and \u201cSmoke Break\u201d for hours and hours after your initial listen. This effect is similar to the long-lingering flavor of Nebula, whose smoke leaves a sweet blackberry coating in your mouth that\u2019ll hang around for all 58 minutes of Chance\u2019s audio homily. Both Nebula and <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Coloring Book<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are perfect picks to start your day off, so wake-and-bake yourself right up to the heavens (the next pairing will bring you right back down, don\u2019t worry). If you want to cop some Nebula of your own, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/weedmaps.com\/dispensaries\/green-valley-collective-2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Green Valley Collective<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in <a href=\"https:\/\/weedmaps.com\/earth\/us\/ca\/los-angeles\/91602\">North Hollywood<\/a> has some hash right now that\u2019ll get you right for sure.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Radiohead\u2019s Thom Yorke is proficient in cynicism and sarcasm as a songwriter, if you couldn\u2019t tell from the band\u2019s new album, titled <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A Moon Shaped Pool<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The title could be an observation on our society\u2019s tendency to overanalyze, always trying to find deeper meaning when sometimes there isn\u2019t one. I wanted to pair Radiohead\u2019s ninth studio album with a strain that would provide as wide-ranging a high as the album\u2019s eclectic track listing. From<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> AMSP\u2019s<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> frenzied opener \u201cBurn the Witch\u201d to the soothing \u201cDaydreaming,\u201d and back to the suspenseful \u201cDecks Dark,\u201d the album introduces a myriad of feelings right from the jump. It\u2019s part carnival fun house, part haunted hayride, keeping you guessing at every turn&#8211; will it be a butterfly or someone chasing you with an axe? For something as weird as this, we need a strain that packs a punch but also opens your brain up for exploration.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe class='youtube-player' type='text\/html' width='702' height='425' src='http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/yI2oS2hoL0k?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;fs=1&#038;autohide=2&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;wmode=transparent' allowfullscreen='true' style='border:0;'><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\nI set off on my journey to the <a href=\"http:\/\/weedmaps.com\">nearest dispensary<\/a> with a large selection of flower, simultaneously entering the middle \u201cFul Stop,\u201d \u201cGlass Eyes,\u201d and \u201cIdentikit\u201d portion of the album. Those three songs were the last I heard before stepping foot in <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/weedmaps.com\/dispensaries\/class-of-420\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Class of 420<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, making for an indica-influenced decision. After telling my super friendly budtender Kat my extra specific request, she quickly recommended the Animal <a href=\"http:\/\/www.marijuana.com\/blog\/news\/2016\/04\/will-the-real-girl-scout-cookies-please-stand-up\/\">Cookies<\/a>. This private reserve hybrid is sweet and sour, symbolic of the album\u2019s reserved paranoia; you\u2019ll look longingly at the sky during certain points but nervously over your shoulder at others. The Animal Cookies will help ease you into deep relaxation, while not completely putting you to sleep &#8212; a perfect limbo state to enjoy Radiohead\u2019s <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A Moon Shaped Pool<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe class='youtube-player' type='text\/html' width='702' height='425' src='http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/TTAU7lLDZYU?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;fs=1&#038;autohide=2&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;wmode=transparent' allowfullscreen='true' style='border:0;'><\/iframe><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Music doesn\u2019t get much more \u201cindica\u201d than Ricky Hil, one of the originators of the modern melodic trap movement. He was early on the scene, developing dark and gloomy themes with thunderous beats that shake you to your very core. Back in 2011, the sonic style wasn\u2019t the behemoth it is today, but the unique crooner was undeterred by industry trends and dropped the heavy <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">500 Grams<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> project anyway. Produced in its entirety by 808 Mafia co-founder Lex Luger, who pioneered the thumping, synth-filled production style used throughout <em>500 Grams<\/em>, the project is a certified banger. Recently the pair remastered their way-ahead-of-its-time project, re-releasing it on Soundcloud to enjoy while you sink to new couch depths.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Though I wouldn\u2019t be picking up five hundred actual grams, I still wanted to get the perfect strain to pair up with Ricky and Lex\u2019s dripped out classic. I looked for a strain with a sky-high THC count, with heavy relaxation characteristic traits. After much consideration, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.marijuana.com\/blog\/news\/2016\/05\/high-thc-strains-from-california\/\">Ogeezus<\/a> was the bud of the ball. Clocking in at over 31% THC and packing an uppercut that\u2019ll leave you slumped for hours, it\u2019s no shock the reviews at <a href=\"https:\/\/weedmaps.com\/earth\/us\/ca\/santa-ana\/92704\">Santa Ana<\/a> dispensary <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/weedmaps.com\/dispensaries\/from-the-earth#\/reviews\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From the Earth<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are littered with comments like \u201cOGEEZUS IS AMAZING!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Be very careful with the Ogeezus, as she\u2019s a \u201cday-changer\u201d&#8211; as in all your plans for the day are quickly changed post-puff. Listening to Lex Luger\u2019s music can carry similar ramifications, changing one\u2019s mood to match his vibe, which I described in my \u201cresearch\u201d notes as \u00a0OUTERSPACEBOXCHEVYBANGSHIT. Committing to <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">500 Grams<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> means you get quite the \u201cfirst-time patient deal\u201d as well, the project packing early verses from Smoke DZA and Ro Ransom in the bag very casually. Bottom line, next time you have a bad day or just want to hit the eject button on real life for a few hours, run this pairing.
