The employees\u2019 names were not released.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt makes my heart sink that a fake ID, or an underage ID, got through our doors,\u201d owner Michael Kwesell told The Denver Post on Friday. \u201cTo that effect, we use a third-party security company as our first layer of defense. We immediately check ID\u2019s. We have an ID checking book.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kwesell declined to say if the employees cited by the sheriff\u2019s office have been fired. He said Thursday represents\u00a0the first time one of his stores has been accused of\u00a0such a violation.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators say they conducted undercover operations at several Pueblo County retail marijuana shops on Thursday after\u00a0receiving complaints that underage individuals were being sold pot.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI guess I\u2019d like to thank the Pueblo County Sheriff\u2019s Office for caring about their community to go out and do these inspections,\u201d Kwesell said. \u201cThey should go out and continue doing these. They should come back again to our store. It\u2019s just going to make us a better, stronger more compliant company.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added: \u201cSomehow, on a busy afternoon \u2014 there\u2019s no good excuse \u2014 one of them got through.\u00a0We\u2019ll do our best to learn from it and move forward.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Strawberry Fields has another location in Pueblo County and a third that sells medical marijuana in Colorado Springs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese business owners don\u2019t want to jeopardize their license,\u201d David J.
