Larimer County to decide on recreational pot edibles"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"wp_fb_like_button\" style=\"margin:5px 0 5px 5px;float:right;height:100px;\"><script src=\"http:\/\/connect.facebook.net\/en_US\/all.js#xfbml=1\"><\/script><fb:like href=\"https:\/\/cannitrol.com\/blog\/will-they-or-wont-they-larimer-county-to-decide-on-recreational-pot-edibles\/\" send=\"true\" layout=\"standard\" width=\"450\" show_faces=\"false\" font=\"arial\" action=\"like\" colorscheme=\"light\"><\/fb:like><\/div><figure id=\"attachment_94991\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter size-article_inline\"><img class=\" lazyautosizes lazyload\" src=\"https:\/\/cannitrol.com\/blog\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/will-they-or-wont-they-larimer-county-to-decide-on-recreational-pot-edibles\" alt=\"marijuana edibles\" width=\"654\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">\n<p>Anya Semenoff, The Denver Post<\/p>\n<p>Marijuana edibles are displayed at a marijuana shop in Denver.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>By Pamela Johnson<\/strong>, <em>Reporter-Herald<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Owners of the two marijuana dispensaries in unincorporated Larimer County have asked the county commissioners for a firm decision on whether they can sell recreational edible products.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey\u2019d like to have a definitive yes or no,\u201d said Lew Gaiter, one of three elected commissioners. \u201cOne of the biggest issues is that it\u2019s in limbo.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gaiter expects the board to take up the request to sell edibles at a Tuesday administrative matters meeting in the near future, to give the owners of the dispensaries a clear answer.<\/p>\n<p>Three years ago, when the county allowed its two dispensaries to expand from medicinal to the then newly allowed recreational marijuana, they banned recreational edible products out of health safety concerns, including worries about children mistaking them for candies or cookies because of the packaging.<\/p>\n<p>Now, the dispensary owners say, regulation of edibles has changed to make the packaging childproof and the marketing clear about what does and does not contain marijuana.
