Williams\u00a0went into Kent\u2019s room and shot him four times. At this point, the two went into the room across the hall that contained Marilyn Kent, who is disabled and was on oxygen at the time. Kent had been taking care of his mother for 20 years, the family member said.<\/p>\n<p>Williams held a gun to her head but Carroll convinced him not to shoot her, according to the DA\u2019s office.<\/p>\n<p>During this time, the family member said Steven Kent got a hold of his gun and shot Carroll in the lower back as he left Marilyn Kent\u2019s room. Williams shot Steven Kent two more times. The family member said Carroll\u00a0then crawled out of the house and was later found by authorities in a ditch out back.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"related right\" \/>\n<p>The District Attorney\u2019s office said the Williams and Carroll, who wore ski masks and rubber gloves, had left with two freezer bags of marijuana. But the family member said Carroll had dropped the bags when he was shot.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.denverpost.com\/2016\/12\/16\/adams-county-home-invasion-shooting-two-arrested\/\">They were arrested later in the month<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Williams <a href=\"https:\/\/www.denverpost.com\/2016\/12\/20\/adams-county-home-invasion-slaying-charges\/\">pleaded guilty<\/a> to second-degree murder in a plea agreement calling for a sentence of 30 to 44 years, according to the DA\u2019s office.<\/p>\n<p>Carroll pleaded guilty to aggravated robbery.
