Therefore, I will be voting against this particular resolution,\u201d said Councilwoman Mary Woolridge, District 3.<\/p>\n<p>In a 20-4 vote, Metro Council passed a resolution in support of the legalization of medical cannabis in Kentucky. This comes after a series of town hall events allowed for public input.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI too have learned so much through this process even thought I am a registered nurse and have worked for 34 years as a nurse. This is like a miracle treatment for so many people,\u201d said Councilwoman Vicki Aubrey Welch, District 13.<\/p>\n<p>But for some on the council, it&#8217;s just too early to support the proposed state legislation for the legalization of medical marijuana.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe don&#8217;t really know what the state bill is going to look like and I think if maybe the timing was just a little off on this. If we had done this six months from now, I may just be totally different,\u201d said Councilwoman Marilyn Parker, District 18.<\/p>\n<p>The resolution does not take any action. It is more just a symbol of support to legalize medical cannabis.<\/p>\n<p>Governor Matt Bevin says he would support the legalization of medical marijuana if it is regulated properly.
