Stewart is joining the Canadian marijuana company Canopy Growth as an adviser to help them develop cannabis products for people and their pets, according to a news release. But even if you live in an area where cannabis is legal, you won’t be getting high on Martha-branded pot brownies anytime soon: The company will start with pet products. Fido won’t be getting stoned, either: The products will contain CBD, a non-psychoactive compound that some say reduces anxiety and promotes relaxation and pain relief, through there has been limited research so far. The compound comes from hemp, but it does not contain tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, the marijuana compound that makes people feel high.

Stewart’s co-star, Snoop Dogg, has a preexisting partnership with Canopy Growth, according to CNN. Snoop has an investing firm called Casa Verde Capital that focuses on cannabis start-ups. Last year he published a cookbook, “From Crook to Cook,” which contains recipes for dishes prepared on the show, such as fried chicken, as well as dessert recipes such as “Bow Wow Brownies,” which encourage cooks to add “a sprinkle of Snoop’s herbs and spices … This is why you bought the book, right? So what the hell you waiting on? Go get baked!”

If it seems like a strange turn for the queen of tasteful holiday decorating and elegant Connecticut farmhouse dinner parties to start working with weed, well, you haven’t been paying attention. Martha has been making this transition for years, capitalizing on her “harder” post-prison image, turning it into dank memes and comedy gold.

It started with her foul-mouthed and hilarious roast of Justin Bieber, in which she gave the singer prison tips and called comedian Natasha Leggero “the dirtiest used-up ho I have ever seen.” It continued with her VH1 show with Snoop, for which she tried on a grill (the kind that goes in your mouth), shotgunned a beer and glugged out of a 40-ounce bottle of malt liquor. As Martha becomes more like Snoop, Snoop has become more like Martha: His cookbook also includes a recipe for Lobster Thermidor.

Martha claims she doesn’t consume cannabis, though that doesn’t mean she has never felt its effects: She says she has gotten a contact high from being around Snoop.

Ever since Martha Stewart teamed up with Snoop Dogg and became America's Cool Weed Grandma, people have wondered: When will the cooking show host take the next logical step and create a line of gourmet cannabis edibles?

[52,330,55,6813,77,6958,9,5019,8088,7446,5921,1,3,18,61,1736
2632,2908,2635,6818,2655,6961,5022,8089,7451,5936,2622
