That\u2019s up 13.8% from June, another record-setting month when <a href=\"https:\/\/www.denverpost.com\/2020\/08\/12\/june-2020-colorado-marijuana-sales-record\/\">the industry raked in nearly $199 million<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>So far in 2020, consumers have purchased more than $1.2 billion worth of cannabis products and the state has collected <a href=\"https:\/\/www.colorado.gov\/pacific\/sites\/default\/files\/0820_MJTaxHistoricalReport.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">$203 million in taxes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Colorado\u2019s cannabis industry is poised to shatter <a href=\"https:\/\/www.denverpost.com\/2020\/02\/18\/colorado-marijuana-sales-2019\/\">2019\u2019s record of $1.75 billion in annual sales<\/a>, especially since August is typically the state\u2019s highest-grossing month. Those figures are due out in early October.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.denverpost.com\/2020\/07\/13\/colorado-cannabis-marijuana-sales-record-high\/\">Marijuana sales have soared to new heights since spring<\/a> despite the coronavirus pandemic. Dispensaries were allowed to remain open during Colorado\u2019s statewide stay-at-home order, which forced them to adapt to new buying habits such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.denverpost.com\/2020\/03\/19\/online-cannabis-sales-colorado-social-distancing\/\">online ordering<\/a>. In August, a <a href=\"http:\/\/theknow.denverpost.com\/2020\/08\/17\/weed-vending-machine-pueblo-colorado\/243437\/\">contactless weed vending machine<\/a> debuted in Pueblo.<\/p>\n<p>An early freeze and snow in September may have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.denverpost.com\/2020\/09\/11\/colorado-cold-snap-could-disrupt-states-marijuana-industry-2\/\">jeopardized millions of dollars worth of marijuana<\/a> grown outdoors and slated for harvest in October.
