The news comes on the heels of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.denverpost.com\/2021\/02\/09\/colorado-cannabis-2020-record-sales-year-2-billion\/\">cannabis\u2019 highest-selling year ever<\/a>, when Colorado businesses netted $2.2 billion.<\/p>\n<p>Since 2014, more than $426.4 million in marijuana excise taxes have been used to fund school-related projects.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"related right\" \/>\n<p>\u201cTo me, $10 billion shows the stability and the success of Colorado\u2019s regulatory market,\u201d said Truman Bradley, executive director of the Marijuana Industry Group, a trade association representing canna-businesses throughout the state. \u201cIf you look at the jobs created, the hundreds of millions of sales and excise taxes raised for state and local programs, it cannot be overstated the success that the regulated market has had in suppressing Colorado\u2019s once vibrant illicit market.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At the same time the industry is celebrating a milestone, lawmakers are working on what could be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.denverpost.com\/2021\/03\/11\/colorado-biggest-overhaul-marijuana-laws-thc-cap\/\">the biggest piece of marijuana legislation since legalization<\/a>.
