{"id":9888,"date":"2023-10-10T15:30:53","date_gmt":"2023-10-10T15:30:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.denverpost.com\/?p=5828517"},"modified":"2023-10-10T15:30:53","modified_gmt":"2023-10-10T15:30:53","slug":"red-rocks-concert-goers-shows-pumped-717-million-into-colorado-in-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cannitrol.com\/blog\/red-rocks-concert-goers-shows-pumped-717-million-into-colorado-in-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"Red Rocks concert-goers, shows pumped $717 million into Colorado in 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"wp_fb_like_button\" style=\"margin:5px 0 5px 5px;float:right;height:100px;\"><script src=\"http:\/\/connect.facebook.net\/en_US\/all.js#xfbml=1\"><\/script><fb:like href=\"https:\/\/cannitrol.com\/blog\/red-rocks-concert-goers-shows-pumped-717-million-into-colorado-in-2022\/\" send=\"true\" layout=\"standard\" width=\"450\" show_faces=\"false\" font=\"arial\" action=\"like\" colorscheme=\"light\"><\/fb:like><\/div><div class=\"media_block\"><\/div>\n<p>Nearly half of all concert-goers at Red Rocks traveled from out of state last year to see their favorite musicians, spending $305 million in the Denver metro area before and after concerts, according to the first-ever economic impact study of the amphitheater.<\/p>\n<p>That was one of the most interesting points gleaned from the study, which also concluded that the record number of shows in 2022 \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.denverpost.com\/tag\/red-rocks-amphitheatre\/\">Red Rocks was booked nearly every night<\/a> from April to November \u2014 has contributed to unprecedented revenue and audience growth.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"related right\"> <\/aside>\n<p>The outdoor venue, which is owned by the city of Denver, employs 1,500 people during the season and supports about 5,500 jobs, representing an annual total of $216 million in income (paychecks) and $717 million in economic output in the metro area (spending), according to BBC Research &amp; Consulting, which prepared the report.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn addition, visitor spending is subject to sales tax and lodging tax, generating more than $20 million per year in tax revenues for state and local governments,\u201d the research film said. \u201cThe City and County of Denver alone generates more than $6 million in sales tax revenue from Red Rocks visitor spending.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Related: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.denverpost.com\/2023\/10\/09\/red-rocks-amphitheatre-2024-concert-calendar-tickets-lineup\/\">The first Red Rocks concerts of 2024 have been set<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>In turn, that spending helps fund other investments in Denver arts and culture through the collection of the Facilities Development Admissions Tax, BBC wrote.
