A Fort Collins man has been arrested after a fire at his home uncovered marijuana and marijuana concentrates stored in a garage, according to the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office.

Jason David Heimann, 40, turned himself in at the Larimer County Jail on Saturday. He was booked on a charge of possession with intent to distribute more than 5 pounds of marijuana but not more than 50 pounds, among other charges, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.

At about 4:50 p.m. Feb. 22, Poudre Fire Authority and sheriff’s deputies were called to a home in the 600 block of Eric Street because of a deck fire. The fire was extinguished, and a firefighter alerted deputies “to the presence of possible marijuana concentrate stored in the garage.”

Deputies returned with a search warrant for the home and seized 3.63 pounds of marijuana concentrate and 19 pounds of marijuana, the sheriff’s office said. Heimann, who lives at the home with a woman and three children, was not there when deputies came back with a warrant.
