The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office has linked a handgun associated with a Lakewood man arrested on Tuesday in connection to a triple homicide in Coal Creek Canyon last month to a bullet found in one of the bodies.

Boulder County Sheriff’s Office Cmdr. Mike Wagner said that Garrett Matthew Coughlin, 24, was arrested on suspicion of three counts of first-degree murder after deliberation, three counts of first-degree murder after commission of a robbery and one count of aggravated robbery.

Wagner said investigators are still trying to determine whether anyone else was involved in the homicides, adding that no further information beyond what was contained in an arrest report will be released at this time.

“We are still pursuing leads and tips,” he said.

The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office has been investigating the deaths of Wallace White, 54, Kelly Sloat-White, 56, and Emory Fraker, 39, since April 15 when their bodies were discovered inside a home on the 800 block of Divide View Drive. White and Sloat-White lived at the home, and Fraker was White’s brother and lived in Broomfield.

An arrest affidavit released on Tuesday states all three suffered gunshot wounds.

The report states that investigators met with Coughlin at the Lakewood Police Department on Tuesday and confronted him with evidence that a handgun associated with him had been used in the homicides.
