Matthew Nance, 33, was arrested Feb. 9 in the parking lot of a Greeley Walmart store on suspicion of conspiracy to commit unlawful possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

According to police, Nance responded to a Craigslist ad for “pound quantity amounts of marijuana” posted by a confidential informant working with the Greeley Police Department. Nance told an undercover officer he wanted 5 pounds of marijuana because he’d already promised it to his buyers and asked the cop to front some of the pot, promising he would pay for it later, according to the affidavit for his arrest.

He later told officers he’d driven to Greeley from North Carolina.
