Get a COVID-19 vaccine at these Denver-area dispensaries this weekend
Still need a COVID-19 vaccine? Perhaps you also want to restock on edibles? This weekend you can stone two birds with one joint when vaccine clinics pop up at four Denver-area marijuana dispensaries.
Aug. 7-9, vaccines will be available for free at The Green Solution locations in Edgewater, Aurora and Northglenn (see schedule below). The dispensary partnered with edibles company Wana Brands and the Colorado Department of Public Health in the state’s latest effort to get the remaining eligible residents inoculated against the coronavirus.
Just over 70% of eligible Coloradans are vaccinated, Gov. Jared Polis said this week. While that rate is encouraging, health officials said it needs to increase to prevent the spread of the delta variant and a rise in COVID-related hospitalizations.
Both the Johnson & Johnson and Pfizer vaccines will be available at the pop-up dispensary clinics, and folks will get to choose which one they receive when they register. Those who need a second dose of Pfizer will be provided information and help on-site to schedule a follow-up appointment, according to a Green Solution spokesperson.
Wana Brands also will be at each clinic promoting its new “quick” acting gummies, which give consumers the effects of a marijuana high in 5 to 15 minutes, the company said.
