Colorado road conditions: Heavy snow freezes traffic across Colorado, CDOT barring trailers from I-70 in mountains
A winter storm could stifle travel across Colorado today and Saturday, closing roadways and threatening to make driving difficult or impossible on segments of interstates 25 and 70.
Colorado’s Department of Transportation warned that travel conditions could become “extreme to impossible” Friday and Saturday, expressing particular concern about I-70 east of Denver and I-25 south of Pueblo.
Beginning at 4 p.m. Friday, CDOT will begin restricting vehicles with any type of trailer from traveling west of exit 259 on I-70. The restrictions will be in place until 8 a.m. Saturday.
